Administrative Assistant

Position Information: Full-time

The mission of the Seneca Regional Planning Commission is to provide wise and prudent guidance for the planning and development of land use, infrastructure, and economic growth for the benefit and general welfare of the residents of Seneca County.

The Seneca Regional Planning Commission is seeking a highly organized, motivated, energetic individual with a wealth of knowledge to aid their ability in seeking creative resources to maintain the current SRPC mission, policies, and procedures, in addition to an understanding of the SRPC role within the community.

This is a full-time position with responsibilities ranging from greeting the public to handling public records and correspondence. The Administrative Assistant answers directly to the Executive Director and acts as a liaison between the SRPC Office and the Board, Seneca County Departments, and the community. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for managing the office and prioritizing tasks daily; planning and executing meeting arrangements; participating in budget development; assisting in analyzing, preparing and monitoring financial records; making recommendations for cost containment practices.

The successful candidate must model leadership values of integrity, honesty, respectfulness, diversity, caring, loyalty and accountability in all work; must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, trustworthiness, initiative and independence in supporting the Executive Director with a wide variety of complex issues; be able to handle sensitive and confidential information; have excellent verbal and written communications skills; enjoy working with people; be adept at consistently multitasking with accuracy to detail; be able to work independently; be proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, and financial software programs; have an understanding of public record policy.

Associates degree required with preference in the field of business, accounting, finance, or related field. Additional requirements: a minimum of two (2) years experience in business with above average performance, experience working with local government a plus, not required. This position may require some evening hours as well as occasional travel. A valid Ohio driver’s license is required.
